My Vote in the 2020 Election
Updated: Oct 26, 2020
When my husband and I voted, I thought about our future children and the America I pray they will live in.
I thought about my church and the right to worship freely with no interference.
I thought about the business we hope to start one day.
Those things, amongst many others, shapes my vote.
But more than anything, scripture tells me how I should vote. My feelings don’t get much say in the matter if my feelings are contrary to God’s word. We pray for wisdom and discernment in all that we do, including casting our vote on an election ballot.
I’m so thankful that we are able to vote.
I’m even more grateful that no matter the outcome, Christ sits rightly on the throne and perfectly governs all of creation.
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” James 1:5
